Regular and Travel Health Care
How often do I need to see my doctor?
I recommend an annual complete physical exam with review of your health issues. This serves as a good time and place, even if you are very healthy, to become more familiar with preventive health strategies so that you can live a long and active life! In between your annual visits, routine office visits address surveillance, new and urgent health care issues.

What is surveillance health care?
If you have high blood pressure, for example, you have more protection from heart disease and stroke if I monitor your blood pressure more than once per year. If you are taking any medications you may need more than one office visit per year for an exam and blood test, depending on your medical condition and prescriptions.

Do I need to see my doctor before I travel outside of the country?
YES! Especially for travel to Asia, Africa, Central and South America, or if you are planning ecotourism, backpacking or mountaineering adventure travel, I strongly advise an office visit with me AT LEAST one month before your departure. I provide advice about vaccines, medications and precautions that are recommended for protection against travel-related disease and illness.
